It’s been a couple days, and no Shadow Originals! Not to worry, today I’m taking these Saucony Shadow Original Red Sand for a spin.
I’m not gonna lie, I thought these were going to be more of a bright red in person, but I can’t say I’m disappointed in the shade they chose. If you follow this blog, you know I’m a huge Saucony fan. I also really love sporting Saucony Originals.
The world sleeps on the Saucony OG’s. The vibe of the shoe and the price point do give them kind of a hipsterish vibe, however I rarely find models of shoes that I’m more satisfied with. The simplicity and looks of the shoe evoke everything that’s great about classic casual runners.
How Are The Materials?
The materials are honestly not quite lush on this pair. At least, not as much as on other pairs I’ve reviewed. Still, they beat out most other sneakers at the price point they are offered. The suede is at least thick if not super buttery and the construction of course is on point. The synthetic leather on the side branding is definitely thin – nothing noteworthy there. Overall though the shoes seem well put together.
How Do They Fit?
The Saucony Shadow Original Red Sand fit true to size although you might be able to go down a half size and still have a great fit. These are also very comfortable. The simplicity of the shoe has a lot to do with how easy these are to wear. I have to mention that these are tough to reshape in terms of the toebox. It comes a little blocky right out of the box, and took me a few passes to get the pointy toe. The toebox just seems naturally taller than other pairs in the Saucony Shadow line. Even still, these look great on foot!
